The Kannad SafeLink R10 AIS Personal Locator Beacon is a world-first personal AIS (Automatic Identification System) device, designed to be worn by individuals and activated in an emergency to assist with recovery in a man overboard situation.

The Kannad SafeLink R10 enables those on board any vessel with an AIS chart plotter to quickly and efficiently locate and retrieve a missing crew member.

The Kannad SafeLink R10 comes supplied with two mounting options.

It can be carried on a lifejacket waist belt with the enclosed belt clip, and in this configuration the device is manually activated by simply sliding off the safety tab and lifting the arming cap to deploy the antenna.

Alternatively the Kannad R10 can also be professionally fitted inside SOME* models of lifejacket using a clip attached to the oral inflation tube of the lifejacket. In this configuration the lanyard of the Kannad SafeLnk R10 is attached to a lower part of the lifejacket and automatically activates the device by pulling off the arming cap whenever the lifejacket is inflated.

The R10 sends structured alert messages, your GPS position and a special identity code directly to all AIS receivers within (approximately) a four mile radius.

The accuracy of data is guaranteed thanks to the unique inbuilt high precision GPS receiver which updates every 60 seconds. With precise location, bearing and range data, fellow crew members or any other nearby sailors with AIS enabled GPS chartplotters have all the information they need to locate the position of the man overboard and effect a speedy recovery, greatly increasing the chances of a safe rescue. An built-in flashing LED light also aids location at night.

The Kannad R10 is guaranteed to transmit continuously for 24 hours and has a seven year battery storage life.

Constructed from ultra durable ABS plastic, and waterproof to 5-metres the Kannad SafeLink R10 measures just 13 x 46 x 120mm and weighs in at just 120g.

This compact and lightweight search and rescue locating device is the must-have personal device for all safety-conscious sailors.                                                                          

The SafeLink R10 is supplied with both attachment clips and a deployment lanyard.

*Note:  Not every model of lifejacket can have the Kannad R10 fitted for automatic activation. It is advised to have the device fitted professionally by a trained dealer. However, in lifejackets not suitable for automatic activation the device can still be fitted inside the lifejacket cover to the oral inflation tube and activated manually by hand.
