Introducing the world's first 5W handheld VHF radio that actually floats! If you drop the IC-M33 into the water, the radio comes up to the surface so that you can easily retrieve it. As the radio has a rugged waterproof body, it will keep on working even after it has been submerged to 21m depth!
The IC-M33 has an easy to see LCD (32x 16 mm) with a clear 2-digit channel number indication. The Volume and SQL levels are shown in the display and the LCD and keypad are back lit for night time operation.
The IC-M33 has 9 large buttons on the front panel that provide simple straight forward operation. It weighs only 300g, and the IC-M33's easy-to-hold rounded body fits comfortably in your hand.
Featuring a Lithium-Ion battery pack and battery charger as standard. The battery pack provides 9 hours of operating time. (Typical operation with Tx : Rx : Standby = 5 : 5 : 90)
Icom has included its unique AquaQuake self draining function on the IC-M33 which emits a specific sound vibration that clears water away from the speaker grill. In addition the optional waterproof speaker-microphone (HM-165) allows crisp and clear communication with the radio safety secured to your jacket or belt, the IC-M33 will even float with the HM-165 attached.
