The NEW Lifeguard ISO 9650 (Type-1) Self Righting Liferaft is manufactured in compliance with the NEW ISO 9650 European Regulation which will harmonize and bring the liferaft regulations of all the various countries of the European Community into line with a single standard.

The Lifeguard ISO 9650 (Type-1) Self Righting Liferafts are designed for open ocean navigation and as such are adapted for the risks associated with long voyages including high seas and heavy winds. This Group-A model is suitable for operating temperature -15 C degrees, through to +65 C degrees and is therefore ideal for long distance cruising, offshore voyages and racing yachts.

The Lifeguard ISO 9650 (Type-1) Self Righting Liferaft is also compliant with the UK Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA) Codes of Practice for use on charter yachts and coded vessels as long as an appropriate SOLAS-B Grab Bag is also carried.

The Lifeguard ISO 9650 (Type-1) Self Righting Liferafts benefit from improved stability with larger and deeper 55L water ballast pockets that are supported by heavy duty mesh around their whole circumference ensuring that they rapidly fill with seawater and deploy to give optimum stability whilst survivors are attempting to board. Beware, most cheap or budget price "Offshore" liferafts typically use flimsy smaller nylon pockets attached by a single small webbing tape at each corner. Tests have shown that these can easily be ripped off especially if a survivor puts their foot in one as a step whilst they are trying to clamber aboard.

The Lifeguard ISO 9650 (Type-1) Liferaft range features a double inflatable floor for thermal insulation that has an improved high visibility orange finish to aid location in severe conditions. These liferafts also feature an upgraded emergency pack that has undergone stowage enhancements making it easier to access the essential equipment in an emergency, even with wet or freezing hands.

With both internal & external webbing lifelines the Lifeguard ISO 9650 Liferaft also features a unique system of staggered grab handles all the way into the liferaft and an external boarding ramp system that makes the Lifeguard ISO 9650 Liferaft one of the easiest liferafts to get aboard even in the roughest conditions.

The self deploying roof arch supports a high visibility orange canopy with SOLAS grade reflective tapes that can be closed quickly and efficiently in heavy seas by means of an easy running high strength zip and Velcro storm flap. This sturdy canopy also features a rainwater catching system and a closable viewing hole / ventilation hole. All Lifeguard ISO 9650 Liferafts have interior AND exterior lighting, and the canopy also features a SART mounting pocket.

Compact dimensions and lightness in weight are two of the Lifeguard ISO 9650 Liferafts most popular attributes. All valise models come packed in a bright yellow durable cover that features extra strong grab handles on the end as well as on the top. This unique design allows the liferaft to be stored end-on in the narrowest of lockers but still allows fast and simple retrieval. The Lifeguard ISO 9650 container models offer some of the most compact and manageable dimensions available. The sturdy GRP containers mount easily on a pushpit cradle and their sleek, clean lines will grace the transom or deck of any motor vessel or sailing yacht.

In fact why not challenge yourself and compare? We are confident that none of those cheap or budget price imitators can match the compact dimensions, lightness in weight, overall quality and high specification of the Lifeguard ISO 9650 Liferaft range.

When you buy a Lifeguard Liferaft you can be assured that every liferaft is manufactured to the very highest standards. Most of those cheap so called "Offshore" model liferafts sold by most Discount Chandlers are imported from china and are built to a cost, all Lifeguard Liferafts are manufactured under strict ISO 9001 quality management standards by RFD Beaufort, one of the worlds most well known and respected liferaft manufacturers.

Owners should bear in mind that a 12-Year Warranty on a cheap or budget price liferaft imported from China may well be worthless when the model has no established European service network and it is highly possible that the importer who simply badges the liferaft in the UK may well have disappeared or stopped supporting them in 4 or 5 years time.

All models in the Lifeguard ISO 9650 Liferaft range come with a 12-Year Warranty and are hermetically sealed offering a three year first service interval, each foil bag also includes a moisture indicator allowing you to visually check its integrity anually.

When a Lifeguard ISO 9650 Container Liferaft is used aboard a Code Of Practice Vessel or Charter Yacht, owners will be pleased to know that their Lifeguard ISO 9650 Container Liferaft has an exemption from the mandatory once yearly full liferaft service that is required by the MCA on all other models of liferaft. Under the MCA exemption any Lifeguard ISO 9650 container Liferaft need only have its first service after 3-years.

Lifeguard are proud to support a full worldwide network of service stations with 12 service stations in the UK alone.
